I remember me and my bestfriend called the NRS one day. We were both preparing to run away from home together thinking it was the only way out our overwhelming lives. I was currently on the phone with my bestfriend and I just randomly typed in 1 800 runaway on my keypad. When I saw a number pop up I was so confused..so I put my friend on hold and called, I heard it ring for a while then added it on 3 way, so it turned into a conference call. When I heard the words “National runway Safeline” Me and my friend both sighed In relief because we both knew we were scared to leave home, but me randomly calling a number I didn’t know about at the time gave us the help we needed. We were on the phone for a good hour taking turns going back and forth telling our story, which was very much similar. They provided great help, and helpful rescources. If it wasn’t for calling the NRS me and my friend would be in great danger. You guys took us seriously when no one else did. You guys helped us out significantly when everyone else just made excuses. You all gave me the strength to carry on when I didn’t think I had any. Y’all made me realize that there is nothing wrong with asking for help. Today I have the strength to keep asking for help, and carrying on and y’all are the reason why. What you guys do is beyond amazing and you saved our life. We truly truly truly truly are thankful for the support you’ve given us. Thank you so much.
