Im a year older than my girlfriend, we want to move and go to college together out of state, but she would turn 18 whilst in her first semester of college. Would she be allowed to move in with me before shes 18 while going to college together?

    Hello There,

Thank you for reaching out to The National Runaway Safeline, we are here to help and here to listen. Congratulations on going to college, that is a huge accomplishment.
We are not legal experts but we do have some information on what could happen. If your girlfriend is given permission to live with you while attending college she should be fine. Because she is a minor if she were to leave without permission her legal guardian could file a runaway report. It is a possibility she could be brought back home if a runaway report is filed.
We hope that this information will be helpful to you in your situation. If you have any more questions please reach out. We are available 24/7 to listen and provide support, best of luck!
