Guest repliedMy 11 year old girl says she will run away if she is unhappy with me, my spouse, or her brother. She tried to rum out of the house and I followed her. She tried to run off while we were outside because her brother made her mad.
i’m scared she will not be around when I wake up ome day. I would really miss her if she runs away. I don’t want her to go!
Amy suggestions on how to get her happy so she won’t want to run away or say that she will run away.

Hey there,
Thanks for reaching out to the National Runaway Safeline. We are here to listen and help as best as we can. It sounds like you are going through a really tough time not having your youth home and being unsure of their safety. They are lucky to have someone that cares so much about them. In many states, there are programs usually called MINS/CHINS. This stands for minors in need of supervision. For youth who are "out of control," this gives the court the ability to help enforce boundaries and rules for the youth to follow. You can contact us directly if you would like us to look up the program in your area for you to contact. Our contact information is 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929); www.1800runaway.org (click on the chat button).
Best of luck,
NRS

My 14 year old son
I have a son, Aidan, 14, who is being unruly. He won’t go to school and threatens to run away every other day. He has missed 3 weeks of school and nothing I do or say helps. I’ve even tried bribing him. He has constant mood swings. I’m just lost and don’t know where else to turn. He is constantly disrupting the family. I have two other kids He has an older brother and a younger sister. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tried to get counseling but every place I’ve contacted that takes Medi-Cal has a waiting list of which I add my name. So I am reaching out for help. Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanking you in advance,
