I am at a loss as what to do... Let me explain:
My 15 year old God son got in a fight with my best friend because she was hitting him. So he hit her back, repeatedly.. Now while I don't condone this behavior, he took it upon his self to call the police and tell them what he did. He has went to court and has been living in my home since a couple days after the incident happened. He is now enrolled in school in my county, I have bought him school clothes and I am the one who is dealing with his probation. Now his grandmother (46. Not some little old lady) Is threatening to come remove him from my home all because she wants to still have control over everything that he does, and because he has not written a letter that the court mandated yet, she has told him to pack his clothes up and she was coming to get him tomorrow. He does not want to live with her and knows that he cant truly run away because of him being on probation. She signed POA for me to be able to enroll him in school and for medical. But I know POA doesn't get me a leg to stand on. Since he has been with me in my home, she hasn't even bothered to see him, or check on how he is. Nothing is heard from her unless its ranting and raving and threats. Short of filing a DCF case, what can we do? We are all afraid of the aftermath of what would happen.. HELP?
