  • Would like to speak on behalf of a friend in need.

I'm not a parent or guardian, but a friend of mine is currently in a very dangerous living situation, and I've been trying to support him and help him find the resources he needs to escape his situation. I live across the country from him, so I can't help directly very much. I was wondering if it would be alright for me to use the NRS call or chat help lines on his behalf to get a better idea for him what kind of assistance he can expect to receive from the help line, as well as an do a preliminary check of what his immediate nearby resources might be. I only consider this because his situation involves him having almost no privacy in his home, under near constant physical and digital surveillance, and I'd like to help ease his worries about his attempt to reach out being potentially discovered by his family, which would put him in a lot of danger.
