    Hey there,

Thanks so much for reaching out today, we understand it takes courage to share about what you’ve been dealing with. From your post it sounds like you’re being mistreated by your father and it’s really taking a toll on your mental health.

You talked about CPS taking you away, and how your dad treats you could be considered emotional abuse and neglect. You have every right to report the abuse to CPS. If that’s what you decide, NRS can call out and make that report with you as well as teachers at your school. There’s also an organization, called Child Help (800) 422-4453, that helps youth find ways to get their custody transferred to a safe adult or family member in cases like this.

You mentioned that you’ve previously tried to end your life and you’re at your breaking point. It must be very painful and heavy to keep that to yourself, and not be able to tell anyone about your emotional pain. We want you to know that your life has infinite value and you so deserve to make it through this. Please remember that you do deserve to exist, regardless of how your dad makes you feel. If those thoughts of wanting to die get to be too much and overwhelm you, please don’t hesitate to call 911. If you need help calling emergency responders, we can make the call together. Never hesitate to reach out! You can always call or chat us at 1-80-RUNAWAY or the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 if you would like someone to talk to.

We are very glad that you reached out to us, and we hope that our response is helpful. You can also consider going to see a school counselor or teacher and talking to them about everything if that is something you feel comfortable doing. You are not alone in this, and we’re open 24/7. If you call or chat us, we can talk over your situation and try to brainstorm additional options for you.

    Stay safe, NRS

    Take me away

I’m 16 years old and live in California. I feel like my dad is emotionally abuseing me. My dad recently just told me that I will only be getting one meal a day (which is from school) and that’s it. In the past he has driven me to my breaking point and I’ve attempted to kill my self 4 times and nobody knows about that. Can the CPS please take me away before I get pushed over the edge.
