Hi. I'm leaving an abusive home in a couple days. I found shelters and have money and some food. I even applied to some jobs. I was just curious if I'd be able to finish my senior year at night? I don't know if there are any programs but it'd make life 100x easier for me. I'll be in mass if that helps at all.

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. It sounds like you are leaving an abusive situation and have been doing some planning to get yourself to a safer place, which you deserve to be somewhere you feel safe. It is important to know that most youth shelters do require parent permission for you to stay otherwise Child Protective Services will likely get involved. With school, that could be more difficult as your parents are the ones who enroll you. That could be something to talk about with your school or even at the shelter you stay at, as some shelters help with schooling. If you would like to discuss this further with us, please call our hotline 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or chat us online at 1800runaway.org. We hope to hear from you soon.
