I'm 17 and trying to runaway

I recently turned 17 in February and have been playing to runaway ever since. I have a friend who's 18 and is willing to let me stay in an apartment until I turn 18. Last night I left to his house but the cops came and my parents took me home. I plan on leaving again soon is there anything I should know before I do? I looked into emaciation but every website said its a small chance it would actually happen and I don't want to take any chances.

We appreciate you sharing your story with us. We are sorry that home is not somewhere you want to be at currently. It sounds like your friend was nice enough to let you stay. Something things you should know about running away are that if you keep running away sometimes states can make it so that you have consequences if you runaway multiple times. As far as emancipation that is a process that can take a while and requires you to have a job, place of your own, evidence to prove you can finish school etc. By the time you get your court case you might already be or close to turning 18.
