  • Everything just keeps getting worse and worse

Well im just your typical high school boy.. I smoke pot responsibly, get the grades my parents want, and try my best but it wasn't until new years day that everything started.(Keep in mind, until this all started, (New Years Day,)they didn't know any of this about me.

I was with my 2 best friends smoking new years day at 7pm, until I heard a loud bang at the door. I opened it to my parents screaming at me and my friends, basically telling them that they were worthless and trouble makers. I had my first, and only pipe I owned on with along with a little bit of weed, they threw it all away and grounded me for a month.

3 days ago, my dad searched my phone and found a pic I sent to my friend of my moms, basically stash of stuff where she keeps credit cards and some money. I DIDNT take anything and my mom even checked and the only reason I had the pic is because I sent it to my friend to see. I put everything back, and didn't even look at anything. They screamed at me for that over and over. The past couple days, my mom has screamed at me for the dumbest things like playing xbox in the living room, or not doing the dishes when their hers, or not walking the dog when she wants me. She will scream at me for the simplest things she doesn't like now. All this yelling is pissing me off and making me anxious and I cant handle it anymore..

just until I thought things couldn't get worse, it does... My dad searched my computer and saw my secret email he doesn't know about. I sell things on a app called letgo to get money for things I want to do and buy since I don't get allowance. He saw that I do that on the computer, He also saw that I "ordered" a fake ID months ago when I don't have a fake Id at all.. And then he always tell me he saw porn sites and everything.. Keep in mind this is all junk mail stuff where companies sell your email and you get tons of junk mail about this crap. He also found out some of my friends in my old city smoke. everything is just crashing down now..(My parents are divorced and we moved away from my original city which is about a 15 minute drive from where we live now, and all my best friends still live and I still talk to them from there.)after all this, they banned me from seeing all my best friends in my old city, took my phone and computer away,(im on a computer they don't know about.) they also deleted my secret email and main email. I cant go outside anymore, I cant go workout, or do my favorite thing to do, Bmx..

My mom is a psychiatric nurse and my dad is a parole agent.. I feel like my dad is taking this way to far and treating my like a parolee just for smoking pot. Everything is just gone now and I don't know what to do. Im just about done with everything and I want to be emancipated.. help

Re: Everything just keeps getting worse and worse

    Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out to us at the National Runaway Safeline. We’re here to help.
You explained that you are having trouble at home after your parents caught you smoking and engaging in some computer activities they did not approve of. You also said that you are not able to leave your home because you’re grounded for a month. This sounds like a difficult situation to be in.
It sounds like you have friends that you communicate with regularly, which is good. Some things you may consider are reaching out to friends or family for support when things are especially difficult. Other sources of support may include a teacher or counselor if you attend school outside of your home.
You mentioned wanting to be emancipated from your parents. While we are not legal experts, we can help you explore legal resources for emancipation based on your region if you call us at our 24/7 help line- 1-800-RUNAWAY.
    Best of luck,
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
