Parents giving me the option to leave at 16 in texas

If my parents wanted me out the house but isnt forcing me to leave they just gave me the decision to and considering the laws in texas if i did leave would it be considered running away or would it be on my parents? My mother is saying she no longer wants me here she said i can leave but cant take anything with me. I have been wanting out the house for the longest this is my chance because i dont get treated well and i also struggle with mental health issues cps has never did anything. i do have a friend i can stay with and i would be safe and taken care of. i have even been talking to the principle councilor and teacher at my school about it

It seems like a complicated situation at home and that you aren’t getting the full support you need. If your parents give you permission to live elsewhere then generally police will respect that and not force you home. If your parents don’t file a runaway report then police won’t know you are gone so you should be ok to live at your friends. Keep in mind that if your parents change their minds then they are within their rights to have you come home at that point and could choose to file a runaway report later.
It might be a good idea to at least try taking some pictures of your birth certificate, and any other forms of identification that you can so that you can prove who you are later down the line if you tried to get a job, attend college, etc.
