If there is abuse at home either one of you can call your state's child protective services hotline to make a report. Or you can call Child Help at 1-800-422-4453. It's up to you.

    Your sister would have to go through the court system to obtain guardianship over you. We aren't legal experts, but we can provide numbers to legal aid services if you tell us what state you are in. You (or your sister) can either respond in this thread or call us at 1-800-RUNAWAY. You can also chat with us at the portal at www.1800runaway.org. You and your sister don't have to face this by yourselves. We are here to listen and help. Hope to hear from you soon!

    my sister is currently 19, and i am 13. we both want to move out of this toxic house. what would it take for her to be my legal gardian?
