Running away && School?????

I am 18 years old. I am leaving the house in less than a week. My family treats me terrible and I cannot take it anymore.
My question is once I leave what am I supposed to do about school? Like I live in currently and attend school in Louisiana.
I do not know if I run away will they fine me for truancy or what? What I am concerned about is if I do tell the school I am leaving my house and state will they contact my parents if I try to unenroll or will they just fine me for truancy or what??
I am so confused on this topic.
BASICALLY IF I LEAVE WITHOUT TELLING MY HIGH SCHOOL I ATTEND OR IF I DO TELL THEM WHAT WILL HAPPEN because I just want this to go as smooth as possible without getting my family involved because then I wont be able to leave.

We’re not legal experts here, but can give you some information based on our experience. In Louisiana where you’re currently living the age of majority where you legally become an adult, is 18. As an adult you are responsible for yourself, and attending school would be your own decision.

If you’re thinking about leaving home there is a lot more to think about. It’s good to know if you have a safe place where you would be living, and how you will support yourself. And, of course, your concern with school too.
