Re: Physically abused, I cry every day
Hi there,
Thank you so much for contacting us. It sounds like you are really going through a difficult time lately and we’re sorry to hear about this.
You do not deserve to be attacked or made to feel like crap by anybody. You deserve to feel safe and comfortable in your own home. It sounds like you are feeling pretty unsafe at home. You have the right to call the police or 911 any time you feel like you are in immediate danger. If you are feeling like you cannot be at home, there is something called National Safe Place that you can explore more here: http://nationalsafeplace.org/ where you can find out where the nearest safe place to you is and a crisis worker can come out to you.
It sounds like you’re thinking about leaving to your friend’s house. It’s awesome to hear that you have your friend’s support. We’re not legal experts, but generally speaking if you leave without consent from legal guardians they have the right to make a runaway report. If a report is made, and the police find you they typically just bring you back home. However, anyone you stay with could potentially be charged for harboring.
We’re not here to tell anybody what they should or should not do. We’re just here to help keep you safe, and help you determine a safe plan that works for you.
Do not hesitate to call or chat with us to talk further. We’re here to help.
Best,
NRS

Physically abused, I cry every day
My parents and my sister treat me like crap. They all said they didn't love me and if they would want nothing to do with me if we weren't family. They attack me all the time and it's worse every time. I'm terrified one day they're going to pull out a knife and stab me to death. I want to leave, but I don't know where I'd stay. I told my friend about it and she's willing to take me in, but I'm worried about what my mom would think.Tags: None
