  • I'm 15 and want to live away from my parents for a semester

I'm a 15-year-old and I am living in Berlin with my family for a year. I'm super unhappy here and am trying to create a possibility of going back to my hometown, Houston, for the second semester, without my parents. They are very understanding of how I am feeling and would most likely be supportive if I could work a solid and logical plan out. I've worked out a few options as to where/ with whom I could stay, but I don't know what the legal issues are. Would it be possible for me to just go with informal permission from my parents, or would we have to file legal documents, give the host family power of attorney, or something of that sort? Also, I know this is quite the right forum for this, but another problem would be that I only have healthcare in Germany at the moment, and I would need to figure out how to get at least somewhat affordable healthcare for just me, for just a semester. Thanks for the help everyone.
