Hello There,
Thank you for contacting The National Runaway Safeline, we are here to help and here to listen. It sounds like you have gone through a difficult time. Abuse is never okay and we are sorry you have had to deal with that. If you would like to make an abuse report you can always call The Child Helpline at- 1800-422-4453.
It is frustrating that after a year of you being gone your adopted mother is trying to get you to come home. We are not legal experts but because you are a minor your legal guardian does have the right to file a runaway report. If the police did find you they most likely would bring you back home if it was safe. Because you mentioned abuse, the police would most likely do an investigation before sending you home. One option you could consider is emancipation, which would grant you adult rights before turning 18. To find out more about emancipation you can call your local court house or give us a call and we can provide you with legal aid numbers.
We hope this information will help you in your situation. If you have any more questions or would like to explore your options please give us a call. We are here 24/7 to listen and to provide support to you. Best of luck!
