Lets say I ran away from home. I am 13 years old. If nobody calls the police, then what would happen?

    RE: Reporting and not reporting

    Hello There!

Thank you for contacting us here at the National Runaway Safeline. It sounds like you may be thinking about running away and are concerned about what might happen. We’re glad you are reaching out for help. There are lots of things to think about, and we want you to be safe.
We’re not legal experts here, but we can discuss in general what might happen. If you run away from home, and are reported as a runaway, the police may look for you and bring you home. If no one reports you, it’s likely the police would not be looking for you.
Here at the National Runaway Safeline, we want you to be safe. If you want to talk to us, please call us at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929), or through our live chat at 1800runaway.org.

We look forward to hearing from you and wish you the best of luck!
    Best Wishes,
    NRS
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
