  • Braces/Dentist?

i currently have braces and plan on living with a friend out of state, is there any way i could continue going to the dentist despite being legally homeless?

Hello and thank you for contacting the National Runaway Safeline. We are not experts in healthcare information, but some things you may want to consider are how you are covered by health insurance (specifically dental insurance) or how the dentist gets paid for your braces. Additionally, if you are a minor, you do generally need parental consent to get medical care. It may be a good idea to find a dentist before leaving and give them a call asking them how much it would cost to finish with your braces and if you can get treated without parental consent. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us on our 24/7 hotline 1-800-786-2929 or on chat at 1800runaway.org.

    Take care,
    NRS
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
