I'm 15 & a girl. I live in Houston,Texas. For the last 4 years my mom has not had me in a stable home, were either leaving with another family or house to house. she went to jail for 9 months. she can't hold a stable job, she spends all her money on WEED CIGGERATES AND DR PEPPER she hasn't had me in school since I finished 7th grade. Since 2016 started we've only slept in the same house 1 time, she hasn't cooked me ONE meal. she gets foodstamps (600)sold them all and bout me enough food for 2 meals. While the foodstamps are for me my sister and my niece and her. I will be way better off on my own. I want to get emancipated but I have to wait till February 25th when I'm 16. but what can I do for the next month?? I want to runaway but where is it legal for me to go? how long will it take me to get emacitpated? Once I turn 16 I can get a job & I'll be going to a college for the free ged classes.. I have plenty of places to stay but my mom wants me with her. so where can I legally stay without her being able to call 911 on me?
