Hello, thanks for taking the time to read this. I'm not trying to run away from home, per say. However I was wondering about the legality of moving out at 17 in the state of Ohio. The legal adult age is 18 here, however if Parents approved the move out, and co-signed the lease on an apartment would that be legal?

Re: Ohio: Moving out at 17.
Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out to us here at the National Runaway Safeline (NRS). We are here to help you and provide you support during this time.
It sounds like you and your parents have discussed a plan for you to move out and are willing to help you with an apartment. We are not legal experts here, but if your parents give you permission to move out and are helping you out, there is a chance that everything should be okay. Since we are not legal experts here you may consider reaching out to your local Police department non-emergency number to gather more specific information. Another option available to you is to give us a call here and we can possibly connect you to legal resources that can best help you and your situation.
Thanks again for reaching out to us here. We really want to learn more about you and your situation. We are here 24/7 and can be reached at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929).
Best,
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
