I have had horrible anxiety for my whole life. Little things like a teacher yelling at me or embarrassing me causes me to have a panic attack. Today it happened again. I don't want to go into detail about it on a forum, but in 6 hours I have to go to school again and I just can't do it. I have already considered faking sick but what would that do? I would still have to go back eventually. I just can't. The only option would be for me to leave. I would have to come back eventually, seeing as there is no place I could go and I doubt I could survive on my pocket money for very long. But maybe if I leave for awhile it will send the message to my mother about how badly I am struggling internally right now. What else could I do? Please help. I am 15 years old and it took a lot of pride swallowing to finally ask for help.

RE: 15 years old and need answer fast. Please help.
Hi there,
Thank you for contacting us here at the National Runaway Safeline (NRS). Thank you also for sharing a little bit of your story with us. From what you shared, it seems anxiety has affected you for quite some time now, and you are feeling like it may be getting out of control especially at school. Anxiety is a frustrating and scary issue for many, and it sometimes takes time to figure out what helps most to manage and control it. Sometimes deep breathing, meditation, exercise, identifying a creative outlet such as drawing, art, music, or simply talking about it with a counselor/therapist or someone you trust may help to relieve symptoms of it. Everyone handles anxiety differently, and finding what is most beneficial to you is important in recovery and overcoming it. You are strong in reaching out for help. If you would like to talk more about your situation as well brainstorm some options and resources together, we would be happy to do so. Please consider reaching out to our crisis line or chatting with us through our website www.1800runaway.org.
We wish you well and hope to hear from you soon.
Take care,
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
