    Hello,

I’m 17 years old and messed up a few weeks ago I go into a lot of trouble and got caught and heard I could be doing 10 years in prison I have court the 23rd and don’t really wanna go but I’m afraid that I’m going to leave and then ended up not getting charged but if I run away it’ll make it worse but I’m afraid if I stay. I will get charged I know what you’ll say
( running away will make it worse ) but I know for a fact I wouldn’t get caught idk I’m afraid because I’ve done 11 years of high school and now I’d be dropping out my last one idk I don’t even know why I’m doing this tbh just looking for some kinda reason to not go

    Hello,
Thank you for writing to us here at the National Runaway Safeline.

We understand it takes great courage to reach out, and we appreciate you sharing a little bit about what’s going on. It sounds like you are caught in between leaving home to avoid court or staying to see through the outcome. When facing legal situations like this one option is to speak with legal counsel, family etc. You said you have a court date coming up. It sounds like you have some time before you make a decision.
We want you to know that we are here as support to help you through this challenging time. We can best help by phone or chat as NRS is unable to respond more than twice by email or bulletin for assistance. If you would like to talk more in detail and share more about how we can help specifically, please call or chat soon.

Our contact information is 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929); www.1800runaway.org (click on the chat button).
We hope to hear from you soon.

    Take care,
    NRS
