    Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out to us here at NRS. That sounds like a tough situation to be in and we are happy to help/talk through it. Just as a quick disclaimer, we aren’t legal experts and therefore cannot answer definitively. Each state and sometimes even each county can do things a little bit differently but we can talk through some things we have noticed/resources to get more guaranteed answers.
Typically, it seems that police tend to go with the laws of the state you are labeled as a legal citizen of. What this means is that if you are from Alabama and were to leave to let’s say Florida, we have noticed that police, if informed of where you are originally from, are more likely to go with the legal age of adulthood for Alabama than Florida. However, this is possible to have changed/not entirely apply to Alabama. For the best information on this, we encourage you to reach out to the local police department’s non-emergency line for both the place you are planning to leave and the place you are planning to go to. This call can be made in a general sense or if you would like, you can call us and we can call out to those departments. You can reach out to us at 1(800)786-2929.
We hope this information has helped a little and we are happy to help/provide any resources you may need if you reach out.
    Best of luck,
    NRS

Leaving AL at 18 to another state

If i leave Alabama to another state where 18 is the age of majority, Could my parents involve police to make me come home even if I am an adult where I move?
