Hi, I am 12, and I want to runaway and live with my friend. My question is, how old do I have to be to runaway and live with my friend?

There is no specific age for running away, a runaway can be anyone typically under the age of 18 that leaves home without parental consent. If you do decide to runaway, your parents have the right to file a runaway report. With a runaway report, if the police find you they may return you home. Running away isn't against the law but if you were to stay with your friend, their parents could get charged with harboring a runaway. The easiest way for you to leave home would be with your guardian's consent. Also,if there is any abuse at home you could contact CPS.
