I want you to know that we are not legal experts here, which means that we are only able to speak in general terms. In most states, because you are a minor your parents would be able to file a runaway report. Typically, if you were found, you would be forced to return home. Running away is not necessarily illegal, but it is a status offense, which means that you are not able to do it. As we mentioned, we are not legal experts here, but the best way to find out is by reaching out to your local police department and asking some general questions. If that is something that might make you nervous, please feel free to give us a call and we would be able to reach out to your local police department for you.
