  • Minor wanting to go across state lines

I am 17 and I live with my boyfriend for almost a year my parents know where I live and keep in contact. We are wanting to go from Texas to Florida for the summer and my father won’t give me constant. If I go can he file a report on me or my boyfriend?

    Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to NRS via our forum!

We’re not legal experts but we do know that the age of majority in both FL and TX, is 18. So if you leave the house without your father’s permission he can make a runaway report on you. If you want to find out exactly what the police in your area would do in that situation you can always call your local police stations non-emergency number and ask them these questions.

    Best, NRS
