  • Help asap

I was kicked out of my home by my mother and I have the messages and everything that told me to get out but she filed me as a run away and they arrested me and then I was realeased to her. I will be 18 in a month and I had to go to court and they said I have to stay with her till I'm 18 but I'm not even staying with her she dropped me off at my grandmas and I haven't seen her since then so what can I do so that I can leave. I don't understand why I have to stay with her when I'm not even around her and haven't seen her since she dropped me off.

    RE: Help asap

    Hello there –

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to reach out to us here at the National Runaway Safeline. From your post on our public bulletin board, it sounds like you are going through a very hard time right now and seems to be very overwhelmed with everything that has been going on. We are always here to listen and help in any way that we can. It’s brave of you to reach out during your time of need. It can be very frustrating not knowing what to do or what your next step might be from this point on. Hopefully we can help you with some of those issues that you are dealing with.

So you have stated that you have been appointed by the courts that you have to stay with your mother until your 18 years old, but you have been living with your grandmother’s since then. It sounds like you really don’t want to be living with your mother at all anymore, but how are things living with your grandmother? Since you stated that you don’t see your mother anymore and have been living with your grandmother ever since that day, has your living situation gotten better while being there? How do you think you might cope with having to live there for another month until your 18 years old? Meaning that you can legally now move out on your own.

If you give us a call on our 24/7 hotline at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) we could help you find resources in your area and could potentially help you brainstorm a possible solution to the issues you are having. We also have an online chat service available every night from 4:30-11:30PM CST that is available through our website (www.1800runaway.org).
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
