How can I become my own person and free from my parents legally to where they don't have ownership over me anymore it starts with an e? I need it bad oh I live in Michigan

Just so you know, we’re not legal experts, but can do our best to give some general info. The word that starts with an e that makes it so your parents no longer are your legal guardians is “emancipation”. Emancipation is the name for the legal process a minor can go through to become independent before turning 18. Unfortunately it can be a really long and costly process. You have to go to court and prove to the judge that you’re in a bad situation at home and that you’d be able to support yourself financially on your own.
