    RE: Abortion

    Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to us. It sounds like you are in a very scary situation and you don’t deserve this. We’re here to help you and support you in any way we can—we want to make sure you’re safe.

We’re really sorry to hear that your mom’s husband has been abusive, and it is not okay for him to threaten to hurt you and your baby. If you ever find yourself in a dangerous situation, please call 911. It is understandable that you want to run away in order to protect your baby and yourself. We can try to find a shelter or safe place for you so that you have somewhere to go. One thing to keep in mind is that if you run away, it might put you at risk for losing custody of your child. If you decide to run,you will need access to good health care while you are pregnant. You should know that nobody can force you to have an abortion against your will. You have to consent to the procedure yourself, so it is really up to you what you want to do. We are here to support you and give you any resources that might help.

Child abuse is illegal and if you’re interested in filing a report, we can help you do that if you call in. We can either call Child Protective Services with you, or we can call on your behalf if you would be more comfortable with that.

We encourage you to call us so that we can discuss your situation in more detail—it sounds like you are in a very unsafe place. We can talk through everything that’s going on and find ways to help you the best we can. If you need resources, our database has such as health care, shelter, and counseling. We would be more than happy to help you come up options and put together a plan.

We are always here for you; our lines are open 24/7 and we have a live chat service from 4:30pm-11:30pm CST.

    Take Care,

    NRS
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.

        Re:

        Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out again. This is a very serious concern to have about your mom's husband trying to abort your baby himself. Our main concern is always your safety. We are not here to tell you what to do, we just want to make sure that you are safe.

Your mom's husband seems to be making you feel rather unsafe. As discussed previously, we are here to help you make a report with Child Protective Services if this something you would like to do. Even if you would just like to talk further about what that would look like, you can call us here any time. Another option regarding reporting is to call Child Help USA at (800) 422 4453.

If you are in need of a safe place to stay, we can call out to shelters with you. If you are in immediate danger, we urge you to call 911 as we are a hotline here to help, but because we are anonymous we do not have the ability to send anyone out to you directly.

We hope to talk with you soon. We're here to support you,

Is the suicide hotline confidential. They call my number back. Are you confidential as a hotline.
