Re: where to get help
Hello,
Thank you very much for contacting us and sharing your story with us. Sounds like there is a lot of stuff going on in this child's life and it's a shame that CPS is not giving him the direct attention he needs. Going by the description you gave, being under the custody and supervision of dad might not be the best thing for him right now.
Since CPS does not seem to be an option right now, other legal matters (as per your suggestion) might be the next step for him. Here is an agency that usually responds and advocates for children that are continuously ignored/passed up by the social service system.

If they are not able to provide something for you or him, please give us a call at 1800.RUNAWAY 24hrs a day and we can continue to talk about your situation.
Best of luck with everything,

where to get help
My grandson will be 16 this year; his mother lives in another state and he is in the custody of his father who I am sorry to say acts more like a sperm donor than a father. The boy has been physically and mentally abused for the past five years. He doesn't want much just to be able to live in a peaceful environment and go to school. Dad has been keeping him away from Mom and her side of the family. He has run away 3 times and at one time was made a ward of the court and placed in our custody. We had no problem with him and his grades in school improved. What can we do to help him? I know he is thinking of running again and he won't come to us this time cause they told him we could go to prison for helping him. I would love to find a lawyer who would help him but everything is about money and none of us have it. Are there any suggestions what we can do to help him get out of this situation? Believe me CPS won't help because he has no bruises. His Dad has choked him, everyday of his life there is nothing positive for him to hang on to; his Dad's girlfriend threatens him constantly. Her daughter who lives somewhere else and one who is a year younger than him smoke pot he doesn't want to go this way.Tags: None
