i really want to leave my house. I can't live here anymore. There's yelling and screaming and fighting all the time and it's so stressful. I've been calm and trying to stay away but now my mother threatened to turn off my internet and cell phone service and take away car privileges. And I just can't live here anymore. They won't let me leave though. I'm 26 and still in school in Ohio and I need to leave my house. How do I leave with a place to live?

It sounds like home life is really stressful due to yelling and fighting. It’s totally understandable why you’d want to get out of that environment. You said that you’re 26 years old, which means you’re an adult. Being an adult, you definitely have the right to decide where you want to live. No one is legally able to keep you from moving out. If your mom is physically stopping you from leaving, you have every right to call the police. If you need an emergency placement, we can help find you a shelter for the night.
