    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us for help. You bring up a great question. We are here to listen and support you in any way that we can. At 16, if you run away from your group home, law enforcement may become involved in a search for you. If you are found by police, they may force you to return to your group home. If you are reported as a runaway, you may find it difficult to sign yourself up for school. Youth who are homeless are guaranteed a right to a public education, however it could be difficult to enroll yourself at school without them at least trying to contact your legal guardian. We could help talk you through some of your options and come up with some resources. If you need to talk, don't hesitate to give us a call or chat with us online! We are looking forward to hearing from you, and wish you the best of luck.
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
