  • 16 and probably want to run away

I'm from Gatineau, Quebec Canada and I wanted to know if ever I runaway, then parents call the police. Does the police ask me if i feel safe with my boyfriend or wanted to go home?
And what will happen if my parents will tell the police that they're scared that my 19 years old boyfriend will hit me in the near future and they don't feel safe that my boyfriend jokes about sex who I suffer sexual abuse but I know it's a joke and what's not

Thank you for reaching out to us at the National Runaway Safeline. It sounds like you are in a difficult situation, and we understand it takes courage to reach out for help. The National Runaway Safeline is located in the United States of America (USA). Our knowledge of helpful community based resources and our understanding of youth in crisis related laws is limited to the USA. There is a crisis hotline in Canada that may be a helpful resource. It's called Kids Help Phone Canada. Call 1-800-668-6868 or check out www.kidshelpphone.ca/

We hope that by reaching out to a local resource, you are able to get the support you need from an organization that understands the laws and circumstances that affect youth in your country.

Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
