I'm 17 trans/ i want to move out but don't know how i'll be able to pay for medicine

I am turning 17 soon and because of my parent's insurance have been able to take hormone blockers and testosterone I want to move out however because my family is very chaotic, to say the least. I want to be able to pay for my testosterone, hormone blockers, and my prescribed anti-depressant medications. Where do I start? Please help!!

Hopefully by supporting you there are other that are reading through this thread that can relate can feel helped as well.

It sounds like you are asking for a way to be able to pay for your own testosterone, hormone blockers, etc but don’t really know where to start. That’s an understandable issue to be dealing with and unfortunately we don’t have any information on that subject either. The only thing that we can think of is possibly calling out to the insurance agency or doctor that your parents are using and finding out how much they cost without insurance and find out if that is going to be a realistic goal for you. Another resource that might have a better understanding of hormone therapy and access to it, is the “Trans Lifeline”. That hotline is answered only by people who are trans and who identify outside the gender binary. They might be a really great support for you through this time.
