Hi guys, I am 17 and i am type one diabetic. Me and my girlfriend are sick of being treated like kids. Our parents are letting us see each other, we are planning on running away but I don't know where I would be able to get my medication. I get supplies (paid for by my medical insurance) every month. Im not sure if I'll be able to runaway without my medication. I'm looking to find out if I could still get my medical supplies while I'm out on the road.

Hello there, thanks for reaching out today. Sorry to hear that your parents won't let you and your girlfriend be together. That sounds like a really difficult situation.
It is smart of you to plan for getting your medication before you decide to leave. Unfortunately, we are not medical expert and we are not sure where else you could receive your medication once you leave. You might call the American Diabetes Association free hotline at 1-800-DIABETES. They might have more answers about how and where you can access treatment.
We here at NRS can help you stay safe if you do chose to run. We can look for shelter and other helpful resources for you if you need. We can also talk through your situation, provide support, and brainstorm your options.
We truly wish you the best and we look forward to hearing from you.
Stay safe,
