  • 17 with a nearly 1 year old! Need advice!

My daughter is nearly one and is currently down south with her father as I live in Manchester and we are no longer together. He's lied to me about multiple things even though we had an agreement Of conditions for her to go down. I've told him I'm picking her up tomorrow because he's lied to me. I then said he has 5-6 hours with her tomorrow as that's how long it'll take me to get down there, and he said "that gives me a 5-6 hours head start" and then said he "was joking and wouldn't run away with her".. THATS STILL A THREAT TO RUN AWAY WITH HER ISN'T IT? Is there anything legal I can do against him?

    Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us here at the National Runaway Safeline. It sounds like your daughter is currently living with her father but he has not been following the conditions that you both agreed to for her to go. While we are not legal experts and cannot say what constitutes as a threat. One thing you could do is get in contact with your local police and ask the about what rights you have as a concerned parent. We really hope that you are able to sort everything out with your daughter’s father. If you need anything else or want to talk to more about the situation please feel free to call us anytime 1-800-786-2929
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
