  • Am i able to runaway and not be forced back

I have some private reasons for getting to the point where im thinking of running away, what i want to know if i had just turned 18 can i runaway with a friend (23 yrs old) out of state? are there any laws or anything that would force me to go back home? and just for the record where im going there is a college i plan on going to since i already got accepted so im not just running away for nothing its more for my future and i have a place to live since my friend just got hired to work around where were going

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting NRS. If you are 18 years old you are considered a legal adult and do not need your parent's permission to leave home. You should be able to travel out of state unless there are court-mandated restrictions placed on you (like house arrest or something like that). If you feel unsure about for any other reason maybe you can talk to someone you trust who can give more advice on the situation. Or feel free to call us anytime. Good luck!
