I'm about to be 16 if I run away and check in to a homeless shelter or shelter for women and kids of some sort if they manage to find me will I be brought back home? And what legal punishments might I undertake if found ? Besides a shelter where can I go or work at ?

    Re: need help

    Hi there,

The intake process for each shelter varies so we would encourage you to give each shelter a call before you arrive to see if they have an open bed.

If you were to leave your home without permission, your legal guardian would have the right to file a run away report. Running away is a status offense and the legal repercussions may include community. We are not legal experts so if you would like to know more about the legality of running away in your town, it may be helpful to contact the local police.

If you need further assistance and would like to explore options for a safe place to stay, feel free to chat in or give us a call.

    All the best,

    NRS
