    okay so im 14 almost 15 and i live in michigan. i want to run away. if my parents file a teen runaway case does it drop when i turn 18? can they still file charges? can they charge me at all if i runaway now only being 14?

    Hello,
    We are glad that you decided to reach out to us. We aren’t legal experts but we can talk generally on the topic. Running away is considered a status offense which means if you are picked up by the police they can return you back to your parents. Once you turn 18 you are no longer a minor and they wouldn’t be able to file a runaway report and they wouldn’t be able to bring you back, if it was previously filed.
