  • Depressed,and wanting to leave

I'm 14 I live in Ohio. My boyfriend and I are pretty serious in our relationship and my parents approve but she barely lets us be together without her being right in our faces . They treat me and my sister unfair and I do talk to several counselors that I trust to help with this and the depression. No, I'm not suicidal but I just want to go with my boyfriend so we can be alone and be hapoy. I do plan in continuing with school and college to become a NICU nurse and he wants to be a tech engineer. Or a lawyer. He dosent have enough room in his house or his mom would let us stay there but we can't. We're trying to find an apartment for the two of us to live in and get things straightened out. I just can't take my parents ignorance anymore please help.

RE: Depressed, and waiting to leave

    Hello,
It seems like you are really struggling to get the time you want with your boyfriend. That is a difficult situation. It’s great that you are talking to your school counselors about what is going on. It is also great that you two have a long term plan for college and work.

The decision to leave is very difficult. Some things to think about may be: If you leave how will you two support yourselves? Who would you ask to the apartment for you (As a minor it may be difficult to get an apartment by yourself)? What would you do if you parents filed a runaway report and you were returned back home? Have you talked to your parents about moving out? If you couldn’t find a place what would your next step be?

It seems like you are in a difficult situation. Parental issues are always hard. It seems like you have a lot to look forward to and a lot of positive in your life, despite your parents treating you unfair.
