running away at 17 (almost 18) in California laws

Hello, I do not have a good home life and it is not going to get any better. I have a full time job, I am graduated from high school, and if I run away I have a stable and safe place to live. I would be living in my friends house with her parents. I feel as if my parents would oppose to the idea of me moving out but I am 18 on october 18, only a few months away. What are the laws on that? If my parents call the cops to come find me, would the cops be able to do anything considering I am safe and so close to 18?
