Ok....I've been living with my semi-abusive grandmother all of my life (16 years) and I've gotten to where I can't take it anymore. She was worried about me running away so she moved me 30 miles from the rest of our family and all of my friends. But I wanna leave....SOON.

She found out I was gay and cracked down on me even harder than before.

Is there ANY way you can help me or give me advice? Please. I'm desperate.

You said that your grandmother is "semi-abusive", what do you mean by this? Is the abuse something you feel that you may want to report? If so, we definitely can help you out with that. How have you been coping with things so long? Are there people close to you that you get suppory from, like a family member or close friend? Just to keep you informed, if you do not wish to report the abuse, please withhold any identifying information on your behalf as our agency is a mandated reporter. This means that we have to report the abuse that is mentioned to us if we have any identifying information. We are not trying to scare you or deter you from getting help, but just want you to know our policy on things.

You said that you grandmother decided to move you a distance away from family and friends because she was scared that you were going to runaway. Where did she get that idea? Have you runaway before or is it something you mentioned you were going to do? You feel that you may want to leave soon...do you have a plan for when you leave if you decide to? How will you survive?

It seems also that your grandmother started to treat you differently when she found out that you were gay. In what ways did she "crack down" on you?
