    RE: help.

    Hi there,

Thanks for posting here today. Wow, it sounds like you’re going through so much. We’re sorry to hear about what you’ve been going through. Your mom is absolutely wrong for treating you that way. You have the right to feel safe in your own home. You are so brave for reaching out for some support tonight. It sounds like you’re taking steps to make sure that you protect yourself and to make sure that this doesn’t happen to you again. That’s amazing! So let’s see how we can help you do that.

It’s understandable that you’d want to be on your own and away from your mom. One option that you have is to make an abuse report. Making an abuse report may help to get you to a safer place. The government may decide that you would be safer in another home. And unfortunately, sometimes if you do make a report, the government may decide not to get involved. The decision is yours to make. If you’d like to talk about making a report, you can call us at anytime at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929). We are completely anonymous and confidential.

If you don’t feel like making a report is something that you want to do right now and that running away is your only option, than you can call us and we can help to find you a shelter and a safe place to stay.

Dealing with all this on your own can be really overwhelming. Sometimes talking with someone that you trust can be helpful. Can you think of someone in your life who you might be able to talk through all of this with? If you’d like you can call us to talk through what’s been going on. If you can’t call in, you can chat with us through our website (www.1800runaway.org) from 4.30pm-11.30pm Central Time. We look forward to chatting or talking with you.

    Best of luck to you,

    NRS
Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
