    re: How?

Hey and thanks for reaching out to the National Runaway Safeline, we’re glad that you found us online. Our role here at NRS isn’t exactly to help you runaway, but instead to help you come up with a plan and safe place to go if you do decide to leave. Are there certain things going on at home that are making you want to runaway? Sometimes things can seem unbearable or like nothing can change to make them better. Have you talked with the people you are living with about what is going on? We are not legal experts, but in most places you aren’t considered a legal adult until you turn 18, but you still have rights and depending on your situation and location, laws dictating those rights and your ability to live independently can vary.

We want to make sure that you have the support you are looking for and we are so glad that you contacted us first before going. We are completely confidential and anonymous and are available 24 hours a day at 1-800-RUNAWAY. You can also reach us through live chat from 4:30-11:30pm CST on our website. We hope that you’ll consider calling us so that we can talk more about your situation and explore some options available to you. We hope that we can give you the resources and support you need to make the best decision for your situation. Hope to hear from you,

Please remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
