re: running away with dog?
Hi:
Thanks for contacting the National Runaway Safeline. We are sorry to hear about what is going on with you. It sounds like you really care about your dog and you want to do what is best for him. While we cannot tell you what we think you should or shouldn’t do, we can discuss some options. Do you have somewhere safe to go when you leave home? If you do not have a home to go, it may be difficult to also care a dog while out on the road. There are some shelters that accept pets, however most shelters do not allow animals. If you left home and were reported as a runaway, the report will get entered into a national database for law enforcement agencies. Law enforcement agencies throughout the country will have access to information and can determine your runaway status.
We hope this information helps. We would like to wish you and your boyfriend the best of luck. We hope you all remain safe. If you become in need of safe housing, please don’t hesitate to call us at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929). Our hotline is toll-free, confidential, anonymous, and available 24/7.
Best Wishes
~NRS
