Thank you for contacting the National Runaway Safeline and asking for help. Every city and state is different on their policies so we couldn’t tell you for sure. There have been cases where a minor’s parent tells them to leave and when they leave the parent files them as a runaway. In this case it’s the minor’s word against the parent’s word which is why legal documents are important. Have you tried talking to your mom about letting you go live with someone else? If she approves perhaps she would be ok with getting it in writing somehow.
