Thank you so much for reaching out to us. It sounds like you are in a really tough spot right now and not sure how to move forward. You mentioned that things started when you were arguing with your mom and she told you to leave but then proceeded to make a runaway report. Have you been in contact with your mom at all during the time you have been gone? It also sounds like the other big issue is you recently found out you are pregnant but haven’t been able to access medical services. In some states, even as a minor, you may be able to access some health care services without your guardian having to be involved. It could be helpful to contact a hospital in your area and see what their confidentiality policy is for minors. Another number that may be helpful to call is Planned Parenthood (1-800-230-7526).

It sounds like you are unsure of what to do as far as returning to your mom’s. Unfortunately we can’t tell you what to do but we are always here to talk about options and even find other resources that may be available. 17 is a tricky age and police may deal with runaways differently depending on what state or county you are in. In some cases we may hear that while police may take a report, if a youth is close to 18, they may not actively search for or make a youth return home. It could be helpful to contact your local police on a non-emergency line and see what their policy is on this.
