However, we are not legal experts and so we cannot tell you exactly what would happen in that situation; a lot of it depends on your state’s laws and your local police department’s discretion.

Otherwise you could call your local police department’s non-emergency number and ask hypothetically what would happen in that situation. You would not have to give them your name, and they might be able to give you a better idea of what the consequences of that could be.
