    Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us. It's good to hear that you're thinking about stuff before you actually make a move. Sounds like there might be some stuff going on at home...what is happening that you and your friend are thinking about running away?

It sounds like you and your friend are 15 years old...is that correct? If so, $200 might not go a long way for the both of you. Have you considered health care, housing, transportation and other important living needs?

Running away from home and still getting the things you need are difficult to attain because chances are your parents might file you in as a runaway with the police department. If that happens (and it usually does) there will be a national report filed that will make getting a job and going to school before the age of 18. There is a chance that there could be a warrant out for your arrest. Sometimes schools and employers can see those records.

We're not trying to scare you out of doing what you want to do but these are some important things to consider.

If you'd like to explore your options some more we are here for you and your friend. You can call our hotline at 1800-RUNAWAY (786-2929). We're available 24 hours a day, anonymous and confidential. You can also reach us on our live chat service and chat with someone everyday from 4:30p-11:30p (CST)

    Best of luck,
    NRS
