re: runaway
Hi there,
Thank you for reaching out to us here at The National Runaway Switchboard. We are here to help and glad that you got ahold of us. We are sorry to hear that you are going through this sticky situation but it is really nice that you care about your friend and that you are involved. It must be difficult to be sitting there wondering what can happen to both you and your friend.
There are some resources we are happy to give you in this circumstance because we are unable to give you any legal advice being that we are not legal experts. Hopefully there they will be able to answer all of your questions and lessen the worry that you have about this difficult situation.
There is the City Kids Foundation at (212) 925-3320
Covenant House (212) 613-0300
Juvenile Rights Division/Legal Aid Services of NYC : (212) 312 2260
There are more resources available if these do not work out for you. Most likely you may have to wait until Monday to reach them but if you want to try them tomorrow it is up to you.
Again, we hope that this helps and if you need anything further do not hesitate to call us 24/7 at 1-800-RUNAWAY. We are confidential, anonymous, and free from any payphone. You can also reach us through chat from 4:30pm-7:00pm CST.
Again, call us if you need anything else. We are here to help.
Good luck to you and your friend,
NRSPlease remember you can reach us directly by calling our 24 hour hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) or through our Live Chat.
