  • please help me! please!!!

Hi. I am 12 years old. I really need some help. I don't know what to do. My dad and my brother rape me almost every single day. I say no, but he still does it. the only reason my brother does it is because my dad makes him. If I try to fight my dad he hits me and when he has sex with me it hurts even more. I told my mom, but she doesnt care about me. My mom and my dad are both drug users and they hurt me all the time. my mom pulls my hair and hits me. my dad hurts me sexually and he kicks and stomps on me. i am so scared. last night my dad forced me to hae sex with him and four of his friends. it hurts so bad. the do not care about me at all. my mom tells me everyday that she hates me and that i am a mistake. i want to run away and never come back so bad. im only 12 years old, but i think being on my own would be better than living the way i am. please help me. i am so scared!

Thanks for contacting the National Runaway Switchboard. We are extremely sorry to hear about what is being done to you. You seemed to be pretty brave by reaching out and trying to seek help. It must be scary living in a household where you are hurt constantly. It is terrible for you to have to go through that especially alone without anyone trying to help you.

We are so proud of you for seeking help and there are options available for you. There are multiple help lines that you can contact including ours. Child Help USA is a national hotline that helps children who have been abused. Child Help is available 24 hours and can be reached at 1-800-422-4453. You can also reach us at 1-800-RUNAWAY (786-2929) and we are available 24 hours as well. If you are feeling unsafe and are able to get to a phone, you can call 911 to get immediate help.

Remember if you decide to leave home you can contact us from any pay phone toll free and we can work with you to try and locate the nearest safe place.

We are available 24 hours 7 days week and someone is always here to take your call. Our hotline (1-800-RUNAWAY) is toll-free, confidential, and anonymous.

      Re: please help me! please!!!

I want to run away so bad, but I'm scared that if I do things will get so much worse. I am only 12 years old. I know how to take care of myself. I have done it all my life, but I can't support myself if I run away. I'm scared that if I stay, my parents will really hurt me. They already put their drugs above me. They don't care about me, so why should I care about myself. I just want all of this to stop. I'm so scared and I have no clue what to do.
My dad is constantly threatening me and my mom just watches and laughs. I am really scared.

        Hey,
Thanks for reaching out again. So it sounds like you need to find a safe place but you're also thinking twice about it because it might get worse. That's a tough thing to battle and having to make this decision is hard. Does anyone around you know the details about what's going on with you? Do people know about the abuse or the rape? None of that is okay and none of it is your fault. It's good ot hear that you want to get out of that and that you need help. That's a big step you've just taken.

There is not much that can happen unless you tell somebody. And, although you've already told us, we can't do much about informing people that have to know (Social Services-Abuse Hotline) without you calling us or your state abuse hotline. If you'd like that information or help making calls, please call us at 1800-RUNAWAY (1800-786-2929) or let us know what state you're in so we can give you that number.

Best of luck and we hope to hear from you soon,
        NRS
